Time: 2:45 pm

Weather conditions: Sunny and Clear – in the 40 to 44 o F range

River Conditions: Lower than normal water levels for February

Location:Pine Rock Park – about 50 – 70 yards from trail head, where river first widens as you walk up the path

Method: Using a D-frame net, Kick sample and hand turned rocks, 3 samples in sections across river (close to shore sample, ΒΌ way across river, mid river sample). All samples in riffle of river

RESULTS:

Stonefly / Mayfly Larva – about 30 estimated, 2 to 3 different species

Caddis flies Larva – 10 – 15 estimated – 2 to 3 species

*Adult Stone fly landed on backpack while getting ready to leave.
